Strategy.
We believe strategies should be living, breathing, transformative tools that leave leaders and teams feeling energized, not exhausted.

The strategic planning process is an opportunity for leaders to step back and examine the bigger landscape: what policies, new organizations or funders may be affecting the need for and the way we deliver our services?
In our experience, leaders often have a vision for their organization but struggle with finding the time needed for research and deep reflection to fuel the creative process.
Our Previous Work
C:G led a New York City-based successful nonprofit through a deep strategic planning process that resulted in a decision to sunset a program that had been taken to scale with public resources. We supported their staff and board with the transition and creation of a new innovative program to meet the evolved needs of their target population and developed a fundraising action plan to get it resourced.
We supported an academic center dedicated to sustainable businesses with a full landscape analysis and strategy. The work defined a new pathway into research and programming centered on sustainable food systems that would leverage the University's unique competencies in finance.
Working with a nonprofit transitioning from start-up phase to maturity, C:G helped the team identify its core strengths and long-term objectives, including identifying strategic trade-offs. We supported leadership to align its programs and initiatives to deliver on its mission. We guided staff through four working sessions and a DEIB workshop resulting in more clarity and a shared vision moving forward.
C:G provides business coaching and start-up advice to early stage entrepreneurs who have shared experience in the foster care system. Our guidance includes business formation, marketing strategy, time management, product & service design, bookkeeping and taxes, and overall encouragement and support to an incredible group of trailblazing young leaders.
Our Approach
Cultivate:Good takes a functional approach to helping organizational leaders clarify the What, Why and How of their work.
We understand that effective strategy is about making strategic trade-offs (determining what an organization won't do).
We guide leaders through an inclusive process of landscape assessment, community consultation and ideation that results in a clear understanding and articulation of the organization's unique value.
We tailor our services based on client need. This may include full ecosystem and funder landscape studies, comparative advantage design, and a new organizational model, or just a process to refresh a mission and intended impact.
We also offer team building expertise, workshops and retreats; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy and workshops; and program design and evaluation.
Critically, all of our strategy work is interwoven with viable funding leads so that great ideas have a real pathway to materialize.

In 2025, we began offering capacity assessment services through the TCC Group's Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT®). The CCAT provides a statistically-validated organizational capacity assessment that measures nonprofits’ effectiveness in relation to four core capacities: leadership, adaptability, management, and technical capacities, as well as organizational culture.
